Dr Lawrence Ong is a Clinical Immunologist and Allergist whose clinical practice encompasses allergic, autoimmune disease and primary immunodeficiency. His clinical interests include diagnosis and management of allergic rhinitis, chronic spontaneous urticaria and autoimmune diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus.
Dr Ong trained in Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Immunopathology at St Vincent’s and Westmead Hospitals. He obtained an NHMRC scholarship to complete his PhD studies in the epigenetics of autoimmune disease, which he obtained in 2020. He has published his research in several peer reviewed journals and continues to be actively involved in basic science and clinical research.
Dr Ong holds a Staff Specialist appointment at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University. He is also a member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.
